About Unreal Media Player Server

Unreal Media Server is a streaming server for Windows platforms, designed to provide multimedia delivery over LAN and Internet. Both media files and live media streams are supported. Supported file formats: AVI (DivX, XVid, any encoding), MPEG-1/2, WMV/WMA, MP3, QuickTime.

Troubleshooting and FAQ

Q: What browsers are supported?
A: The plugin was tested on:
  • Mozilla 1.6 and later
  • Firefox 1.0 and later
  • Netscape 7.1 and later
*It is possible that the plugin will run on additional Gecko browsers.

Q: When I attempt to install the plugin, my browser displays a warning. Why?
A: Installing software via the web at random may damage your computer or violate your privacy. Unreal Media Player is neither virus nor spyware. It is designed only to play streaming audio and video broadcasted by Unreal Media Server.

Q: How to download and install the plugin manually?
A: Click here to download the installation package. After the file is downloaded, you can drag and drop it into your browser's window.

Q: How to uninstall the plugin?
A: Download this batch file, extract it, run it and then delete both the ZIP and the batch files.

In order to remove it manually, you will need to:
  • Unregister all DLLs from your Windows\UMediaPlayerActiveXPlugin5 directory
  • Remove this directory
  • Remove [Mozilla Install Directory]\Plugins\npUMediaPlayer5.dll
  • Remove [Mozilla Install Directory]\Components\npUMediaPlayer5.xpt
